Robert is a noted designer with eclectic taste and interests. Trained as an architect and interior designer, his interests include garden design and art history.

He trained at Pratt Institute in New York and earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree. At the National Academy of Design he studied the classical orders as a means of understand the use of proportional language systems.

Art and architectural history have always been his passions and an inseparable influence on his design work, whether contemporary or traditional. Robert believes a successful design scheme should have a sense of history and sensitivity to contemporary life. He believes this discourse brings vital interest, humor, and personality to every project.

Thoughtful and carefully conceived, each project shows a keen understanding of geometry, detail, and a sensuous use of textile and color.

A client's lifestyle and budget are important considerations to create a concept that is personal and unique to each project.

Over the years Robert's work has included a broad range of opportunities, from the renovation of a Brooklyn Heights Townhouse, apartments in New York City, residences in Westchester and Connecticut, and a room in one of the celebrated Designer Show-Houses for House and Garden Magazine. For many years Robert has worked at the top of the profession with other offices, most recently Oliver Cope Architects, Baranovich Architects, Mark Hampton Inc., and Bunny Williams. His rich experience led to establishing Robert B. Farrell Ltd. In 2004 with the goal of combining architecture, interior design, and garden design.
